The story of Mej – Il Ceppo Fruttero began in 1952 in Fossano, in the heart of Piedmont. From a small company specializing in professional butcher blocks and cutting boards, over time we expanded our outlook beyond national borders, reaching Europe and Asia.
From trade fairs to international markets
Our journey abroad began with international trade fairs, where we presented our work to foreign buyers and industry professionals. That is how Mej professional butcher blocks and cutting boards found their place in European and Asian markets, eventually reaching the United Arab Emirates as part of international projects and large-scale supplies.
Over time, markets have evolved, and so have the ways of collaborating and working together. For us, this has meant growing and adapting, while remaining faithful to the quality and craftsmanship that define us.
Curiosity as a driving force
Today Mej is led by Cristina Fruttero, who continues the path started by her father Michele. Michele, with the curiosity of someone who looks to the future without forgetting his roots, attended international trade fairs observing with care what the world had to offer. It is this same curiosity that he passed on to Cristina, along with expertise and passion, giving her the freedom to grow and make decisions with the confidence of having a solid foundation behind her.
